12 Days of Crafting - Day 3: Thank You Cards Gift

12 Days of Crafting - Day 3: Thank You Cards Gift

Brenda here welcoming you to Day 3 of the 2022 12 Days of Crafting. For the next 10 days the Cat Pack will be posting craft projects we hope will inspire you to make one of your own. There are prizes up for grabs if you choose to join in (more about that at the end of this post).

Today Iʻm sharing with you a gift set of Thank You cards, all wrapped up in their little gift box.

Thank you cards

I started by creating 31/2" x 5" card bases from white 110# cardstock.  In Silhouette Studio, I created 3" x 3" squares and filled them with Black and White Spring Digi Papers.  This created an image that was the perfect scale for these smaller cards.  They were printed, cut out and matted on black cardstock before attaching to the card base.

The flowers were created using Flower Buttons Digistamps which were sized and cut from black and white cardstock. I used the offset panel to thicken the leaves and cut them from green cardstock.  I tied thread knots in each of the button centers, glued the flowers together and mounted them on the cards.

Finally, the sentiments from Wheel Love Digistamp and Critter Camp were sized, printed, cut and mounted on black cardstock before gluing to the card front.

I used the Mini Pizza Box and Notecard Cutable as a gift box.  I printed 80# cardstock with Black and White Spring Digi Papers.  Next, with Silhouette Studio, I sized the pizza box to be 5" x 5" to accommodate the cards and a writing tool.

I cut the box from the buffalo print paper and assembled it.  The pencil holder was created  using a 8" by 1 1/2" piece of cardstock.  It was scored at 1 1/4", 2 1/8", 3", 5", 5 7/8" and 6 3/4".

scoring guide

The first score is a valley fold, then a mountain fold, another valley fold and repeat.  It will look like this -

The mountains folds were glued together and when dry, a hole was punched in each, sized to fit the pen/pencil.  There should be plenty of room in your box to glue the holder so it looks like this -

To finish things off, I made a little tag using Red and Black Ornament Tags Digistamps/SVG and attached it to a ribbon.
