Jen here welcoming you to Day 4 of the 2022 12 Days of Crafting. For these 12 days the Cat Pack team will post a craft project which we hope will inspire you to make one of your own. There are prizes up for grabs if you choose to join in (more about that at the end of this post).
It's Day 4 and the theme is "Kid Friendly". Of course I would sign up for that one--I love crafting with my kids! And each year we like to make ornaments, so that's what we made this year.
First of all, my boys love to color, so they both picked out a Christmas digi to use. The penguins were a big hit, so I chose Baby It's Cold Outside. I cut them with my ScanNCut and we all colored them. Then I laminated them to make sure they'd last through the years. I used my ScanNCut to cut out some wreath forms. To make the wreaths, we simply wrapped yarn around the circle to cover the paper. I inked up the paper with green ink in case any of the paper showed through, and we each decorated our wreaths with Nuvo drops or Stickles and I tied bows for each of the ornaments.
My nine year old loved making this ornament and can't wait to make more. He loved coloring up the Reindeer Kisses digital stamp. For his wreath, he chose the same yarn that I did and wrapped it beautifully. He also liked the white Nuvo drops and red bow that I used, but he added some blue drops for his own flair.
My seven year old chose the Penguin Sleigh digital stamp and colored it beautifully. He did not have quite as much fun as his brother when it came to making the wreath. He struggled a bit with the yarn and I had to help him. But he was much more clever in finding ways to make his wreath unique--opting for red yarn instead of our green and decorating with Stickles.
We're so excited to hang these on the tree for years to come!
