BABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE? HUH?

BABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE? HUH?

What better way to "chill out" in the summertime than by planning your holiday cards NOW?! Christmas in July...for those forward thinking crafters is the perfect time to start. I, being a HUGE procrastinator, usually wait 'til the last minute. Alma, always ahead of the game, is featuring CHRISTMAS NOW!

Bunny is back in the BUNNY SHOWGLOBE set. I love his pudgy fluffiness! Our July release also features WOODGRAIN COVERPLATES Cutable files. I'm in for woodgrain any day, every day. Funny story...the woodgrain background here was cut using dark brown cardstock. I thought I might use it as a stencil to ink over onto gray cardstock to match my bunny. That didn't quite work as I wanted but I decided that I really liked the cutout when it was layered with Oxide ink with splatters of white acrylic paint and some black ink spray. Gives it a barnwood aged look.

I colored Bunny with Copics and added glitter snow and glitter to his little hill to give it sparkle. For the snowglobe base, I swiped various brown ink marker across the image and then hand drew in the woodgrain with a very thin marker. Wooden stars, orange ribbon, and enamel dots in between a way cool sentiment finished it off. Woodgrain...it's my jam! :0) LOL!

My second card for the day is also a Bunny card...this time the SKI BUNNY set. I love that, because these are digi images, you can make them as big or small as you like. I'm not a big planner so I kind of just eyeball it and print then cut the image on the Silhouette. I let the image size determine the card size as I go. (Yup, that means custom envelopes...which is why most of these cards are still sitting here...hmmm, gotta do something about that.)

On this one, I created a gray-blue cloudy background for Bunny using the TCP GREAT OUTDOORS stencil and Distress Oxide inks.  I added a few snowflakes to match the ones in the image with my think black marker. I used the same technique as above to add some woodgrain to Bunny's skis. Some patterned paper that made me think of mountains, a pinked circle layer, buttons and twine tie it all up.

Make sure that you check in at the TCP store for items that are now 60% off! As we go digi over here all other items are on big-time sale. Whooohooo!
