BEE NICE, BEE GNOMIE

BEE NICE, BEE GNOMIE

I can't even believe it's June already! When did that happen? In Maryland, we've been invaded by CICADAS and they're so loud and pretty creepy with their big red eyes! (If you're not familiar, look 'em up!) Let's take our minds off of those bugs and let's concentrate on THESE adorable BEE GNOMIES!

Alma is so very clever with these gnomes...they're super sweet. My first card uses the new BEE HAPPY, BEE GNOMIE digi set, along with the HONEYCOMB COVERPLATES cut file. Don't you love the idea of a cutable coverplate file? It's perfection. AND, I actually cut the three included files on my Silhouette from stencil plastic. YOUR OWN STENCILS...IN WHATEVER SIZE YOU WANT...MADE AT HOME! TA-DAAAAA! These will be awesome for the next time I need some beehive hex background.

I used my slimline sized honeycomb stencil on a piece of patterned paper. I used Pixie spray to keep the stencil in place and blended three different yellow Distress Oxide inks to add more color. Works for a great background - doesn't over shadow the main images but you definitely see what it is.

I printed and cut the bees and BEE GNOMIE in Silhouette Studio - adding the offset to frame each image. I used colored pencils and Gamsol to color the images and added a tiny bit of white gel pen to add highlights. Some enamel dots finish it off.

As I was cleaning up from the first card I realized that I could use the negative cut space from the BEE NICE letters in the first card to make another card. No wasting around here! This tall slimline card was colored with Copics. Top Secret fact...when I cut the original gnomie, bees, and letters from my sheet of kraft cardstock, I was a little close to the last E in bee. I was unable to get a clean rectangle to use on this second card. That little bee in the upper right corner just covers that little faux pas right up! Yay!

The closeup of BEE GNOMIE shows his sparkly wings - colored with a Stardust Glitter Pen...one of my all time fave tools!

Don't forget that as TCP goes all digital, Alma is selling lots of stuff at super discount prices!
