Rainbows and Paper Hugs

Rainbows and Paper Hugs

A Cuppa Soup
Hello!  Jen here - sending rainbows and crafty hugs your way.  I wanted to share with you how I made this sweet card and ended up with a fun bonus card that I hadn't even planned.  Who doesn't love this bear?  I didn't use the A Cuppa Digistamp set last month when it was released, but I just couldn't wait to get this guy colored up.  "Get well soon" didn't quite work for my recipient, so I went with "Sending Warm Wishes to You" from the Warm Wishes Digistamp.  I wanted a cheery and colorful background, so I cut out the Like a Rainbow SVG and used the cardstock as a stencil.  I really loved this technique to be able to precisely match the colors to the papers that I used to paper-piece the apron.  And that's when things really got interesting.  The cardstock stencil looked really pretty with all that ink on it.  And it was just begging to be made into a shaker card.

I added a bit more ink, die cut it, matted it, and added some water splatter.  Now I have another happy and colorful card to brighten someone's day.  I hope these cards brightened your day!
Here are the products that I used today:
