Hello! Jen here with some sunny summery wishes. What? No critters today? It's so unlike me, I know. You know I love those bunnies, bears, and penguins that are featured in so many of the TCP digistamps. But I was actually in the mood to use an SVG today, and I've been meaning to give these beautiful Sunflowers a try.
Sure, I could have cut them out with plain colored cardstock, or my preferred method - cut it all out of white cardstock and sponge ink to get the colors. But I also thought this would be a fun way to use up some of my designer paper scraps.
I don't know about you, but I always enjoy digging through my scrap drawer and admiring all the pretty colors and patterns. The pattern that I picked out for the light green on the leaves didn't show very well, and I decided too late that I wanted a pattern on the flower centers. So I stamped some extra patterns after I cut out the shapes. I usually add glitter as a finishing touch, but today I went for the shimmer of some Nuvo Dream Drops painted on to the flowers and leaves. It was hard to capture in the photos, but trust me. It's fabulous.
One last thing. When you run to your craft room to also make one of these sunflower cards, make sure you shape the petals with a stylus before you glue all the layers together. Don't be like me and forget that important step, or you'll end up trying to fluff up your flat flowers with your fingers and it just won't be the same. Let me know how yours turns out!
