WARM WISHES - SANDY SANTA

WARM WISHES - SANDY SANTA

DID SOMEONE SAY SNOW?! NOOOOOOOOO. NOPE. NADA. NEGATIVE GHOSTRIDER! Not even close to thinking about snow over here but neither is Santa. He's enjoying fun in the sun, surf, and sand. And he better watch out for sunburn 'cuz his bald head and his belly are looking a little "pink" there.

I love this scene...this is where I'd love to be right now too. Santa and the palm trees are in the new WARM WISHES digi set available this month. I just love that I can make him whatever size works for me (this is a LARGE card). So I added him to my Silhouette Design Space and the added the trees, overlapping some. I added an offset path around the grouped images so that the machine would cut it all out with a small white border. All colored up with Copics. The background is various Distress Oxide inks - sponged around and blended, clouds using a TCP stencil, and white gel ink dots for the surf. I also added some hand drawn flowers to Santa's board shorts with a really thin black pigment ink pen. It's hard to see here but I there's Glossy Accents on his glasses to make them shine as well. Twine and enamel dots finish it off.

Digi stamper tip: I see lots of sentiment strips/banners out there that are white ink on black cardstock with white embossing powder. Here's a little cheat...add the sentiment to your computer workspace, change the color to white. Add a colored rectangle, in this case black, and layer it behind the sentiment. Print and trim to fit your card. Voila...an easy digital sentiment strip.
Summer's flying by...hope you're out there ENJOYING IT!
