Happy Tuesday! It’s Alma and it’s Day 5 of our 12 Days of Crafting Challenge. Today’s challenge is one that is near and dear to my heart: Ornaments.
One year I decided that I would make all my gifts. Candy was tested and made. Lots of fruit, jellied. Booze was flavored, and I’d like to think that the receivers liked their gifts as much as I liked making them. I did this for years, until time got away from me.
Now, I still like making things for the Holidays. Last year, my sister and niece got together and made Christmas ornaments. They tell me that they didn’t think they would have fun doing it, but they did. Now, my niece actually suggests GIRL’S NIGHTS! Crazy! The power of crafting!
So, this year, I decided to make ornaments using Dollar Store and Michael’s goodies and personalize them with our Digistamps. Yup, you got that right, that Noel, and Dec 25 started life as Digistamps, but I made them into Cutting Files so I could make them into vinyl stickers.
It’s a great way to extend your Digistamps so you can use them to embellish thing like these ornaments that started life out as bird houses. A couple of coats of paint. “Snow” that’s really Spackle. Miniatures to embellish, and don’t forget the personalized vinyl stickers from Digistamps and you have these cute ornaments.
Want to know how to make cutting files from Digistamps? I thought you’d never ask. I created videos for three of the electronic cutting machines’ apps. Just click on the link for the one you want. It’s easy to do on their apps.

In addition to the Gnome House ornaments I created a simple but sweet bucket of snowballs.
I filled tiny metal buckets with floral foam and spackle to look like snow and added various styrofoam balls to look like a pile of snowballs. Then, I added the vinyl sticker and ribbon and I was done. Easy peasy.
It really was easy to create these ornaments. Click here to see how.
