12 Days of Crafting - Day 5: Beverage Themed Gift

Hey Y'all!!!  Teresa here welcoming you to Day 5 of the 2022 12 Days of Crafting. For these 12 days the Cat Pack team will post a craft project which we hope will inspire you to make one of your own. There are prizes up for grabs if you choose to join in (more about that at the end of this post).

It's Day 5 and the theme is "Beverage Themed Gift".  Oh so many beverages to choose from.  I seem to drink a lot of coffee with girl friends so I decided I'd make a special gift for one of them, complete with coffee and a fun 'hinged' card.  More about that later...

I used several digital and cut files to make this beautiful project.   I started with the 'K Cup Carry All' to hold 2 k-cups of coffee for me and my BFF.  I used magnets to hold the top together and glued a beautiful red satin ribbon to the front of the enclosure.  Printed a fun sentiment from the 'Handmade For the Holidays' digital stamp set in green and glued one to the front and one to the back.  So cute!  She's gonna love it.

The 'hinged' card is made from a kraft card base.  I covered the front with fun papers using my paper cutter and some different shape dies.  The best parts of course are the "HO, HO, HO" from our very on 'Snowy Sayings' cutables.  I used my cricut to cut the HO HO HO from a pretty textured red card stock and used a feature of the cricut to create the shiny green background.  I needed a beautiful flower for the front so I turned our 'Sunflowers' cutable into a Christmas flower.  Worked great, don't you think?  

And here's the cool part.  The hinge.  When you open up the card from the bottom, there's a second layer that is sort of a door.  It hinges on the left and opens the door to reveal the real message underneath.  Our very own bunny is riding on that center door, hanging out in two beautiful mugs.  Looks like he's standing in coffee doesn't it?  The bunny & mugs are from our 'Sponsored By' digital stamp set.
