Forget About The Cake. Go For The Icing.

Forget About The Cake. Go For The Icing.

Hey Y'all!!!  It's Teresa here with a little more birthday fun in January.  This little bunny is so funny and cute. Just like me he would go directly for the icing. No cake needed. It looks sort of like he's actually in the cake. The Cat's Pajamas has so many great digital images, especially these little bunnies.. Be sure to check them all out!  All the details for making this card yourself are below (including links).

I began by coloring this cute little birthday bunny and cake on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White paper using Copic markers.

COPIC MARKERS:

• Bunny (E50, 51, 53, 55, R00, 01, 02)

• Cake, Icing, Candles & Plate (RV09, RV04, RV02, BG05, BG02, Y18, Y15, Y13)

PAPER & EVERYTHING ELSE

• Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb Paper

• Card Stock - Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Pacific Point

• Designer Paper - Hey Cupcake

• Dies - Pierced Scallop Ovals, Wonky Stitched Rectangles, Slimline Birthday Scallops

• Foam Tape, Bearly Art Craft Glue, Pink & Icicle Stickles, Corner Rounder

Forget About The Cake

The card base is from a a piece of Melon Mambo. It's one of my favorite colors. I chose patterned paper that was very bright and cheery. Reminded me of a birthday cake. I always choose my paper first and build the whole card around that, including my Copic colors. Do you?

I cut the background paper out with a rectangular die that I love. I'm not a very symmetrical person so I love wacky lines. Glued it down to the card base with wet glue. Cut a scalloped oval next and it is glued down to the background and centered on the card.

I cut multiple candles using part of a birthday die set. Matched the card stock colors up to the patterned paper. They are glued with wet glue down on the oval but I raised them a little on the card so they would stick up off of the card. Sort of like candles on a cake.

The bunny is cut out using the same Zig Zag rectangle die set and popped up off the card with foam tape. I used a piece of Melon Mambo for a background for the sentiment. It's popped up with foam tape as well.

The last thing was to color the icing with pink stickles and the candles with icicle stickles. Love glittery things.
