Love and Glitter

Jen Valentine
Hello friends!  It's Jen today and I have a question for you---have you got all your valentines made?  You know I haven't.  Aren't you glad this January release has such fun digis for instant download for all your last minute valentine needs? I'm a big fan of this cute penguin from the Got Love Digistamp.  I actually have the retired clear stamp version and used that for the above card.  I felt guilty printing it when I could stamp it.  So I stamped him out and cut him with my ScanNCut.  I realized recently that I have too many leftover backgrounds and I can't close my background drawer.  So I went digging for a fun background.  This one that I grabbed was just made from cleaning some gold paint off my brayer.  I love the shine.

But it needed some glitter and it needed some hearts.  So I used the hearts from the Scripted Sentiments Digistamp, cut them out of glitter heat transfer vinyl, and pressed them onto my background.  Sure is a fun and clean way to add glitter.  I thought those looked like some big balloons for such a little penguin, so I drew a sort of shadow to make it look like he is floating a bit off the ground and put an action wobble underneath the balloons.
Even though I couldn't help using my old Got Love clear stamp, I also couldn't resist playing around with the actual Digistamp.  I just love how a digi can take on any size.  It brings so much more life to this set that I've been enjoying for so long.

I enjoy making clean and simple one layer cards by printing the digi really large and just coloring.  This was a really quick and fun card to make with one of the Scripted Sentiments and of course some glitter.  I added a whimsical hand-drawn frame and colored it gold to really make it pop.  And now I am two valentines closer to my goal.
Here are the products I used today:
