Time to Fly

Jen Wiper Card
Hello and Happy New Year, TCP Fans!  Jen here--it's my turn to share what I've been working on with this month's wicked fun release.  I've never seen a wiper card before, but I couldn't wait to try the template when I saw it.  Let me tell you, it does not disappoint.  This Cutable makes it so easy!  Now don't get me wrong I am somewhat fun fold challenged, so I am very glad that there is a tutorial video out there.  I'm here to tell you if I can do it, you can too.  I love the cloud shape and I also love that you can mix and match the cloud border or the straight border.  I chose to use straight in the back and cloud in the front.

Now, obviously those clouds were just begging for this space bunny from the Fly High Digistamp to pop out from behind them.  I got a bit messy with mixed media for my backgrounds.  I cut the pieces from plain black and light blue cardstocks.  Then I just dipped the pieces in ink sprays and iridescent ink.  Of course the cardstock ended up all warped, so I had to cut the pieces again out of white cardstock to back it and reinforce it.  Then I made a decision that I regretted for a minute--I applied some stars across the sky with texture paste.  Well, once I had the card assembled, the wiper kept getting stuck on the stars.  I had to sand down the stars in it's path.  Crisis averted and it still looks good!  Ideally, the wiper piece itself would be cut from acetate, but I wanted to prove that it would also look just fine in black if you don't have acetate.
I hope you're inspired to give this Wiper Card a try.  I will certainly be making more of these fun cards!
